I really enjoyed Swordheart so didn’t hesitate to add this second one to my wish list then got it with my next credit. This Paladin story is just as good.

The characters are very relatable and feel like my friends by the end of it. The villain is the system of the Lords, and their favourite necromancer. The heroes are believable and their romance hits all the right tropes to feel just right.
I genuinely love the world building which happens almost as an afterthought but feels intentional at the same time. The plot is secondary to the characters and their needs, but hurtles along apace and feels reckless and very well planned, the romance happening in real time with the events of the plot.
The narrator is excellent, I hope he narrated all the series, including the books that are yet to be released.
