Summary
The bad boy of professional fencing meets Hollywood’s favorite good girl in this sexy sports romance set against the backdrop of a high-stakes blockbuster.
DANTE HASTINGS:
You might have heard of me.
I was the defending Olympic champion—until I used my fist instead of my sabre during a match. Needless to say, I was suspended. Which means no competing for a year…and cleaning up my image.
So, instead of continuing to dominate the fencing world, I’m working on a film that’s poised to be next year’s blockbuster action flick.
The upside? Working with Reese Sinclair, my celebrity crush whose poster was on my wall growing up. Spending time with her will help wash the tabloids of my suspension and convince the league that I’m reformed.
But America’s sweetheart is nothing like I imagined. She’s stubborn, ambitious, and struggling to prove herself in a role that no one thinks she can handle. Still, her determination runs red-hot, and I can’t help but admire her.
When our late-night training sessions turn into something more, I start to realize that I’m outmaneuvered by feelings I never saw coming.
REESE SINCLAIR:
The girl next door. The best friend. The love-struck heroine.
I’ve played them all.
But with 30 creeping closer, I need to prove to myself that I can be more than Hollywood’s darling. And this movie is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for, the project I can use to break out of my typecasting.
The problem? I’m not cut out for action-packed stunt work.
Enter: Dante Hastings. He’s hedonistic, insufferable, infuriatingly gorgeous—and my last shot at making this career move work.
I should stay away. His reputation alone could sink mine. But the more time we spend together, the more I see past all his tabloid exploits and rule-breaking. He knows what it means to fight for something.
But a leading lady doesn’t simper over her co-workers, right?
Yet as much as I try to resist, part of me wants to let Dante put the sin in Sinclair.

Dante & Reese were such great characters, they had so many layers to uncover and so much depth. The growth they both experienced with and without each other was absolutely beautiful. I adored seeing Reese come out of her shell and find her voice. I loved seeing Dante be vulnerable and find his place as well. Their relationship was such a beautiful thing to watch evolve. Their chemistry and banter was absolute fire.
Overall, this was a really great add on to the series. A fun concept, great characters and a storyline that kept me invested throughout.
🎧 The narration by Savannah Peachwood & Teddy Hamilton was absolutely amazing as usual. I absolutely adore these two with all my heart and they brought these characters to life so perfectly. Their voices were perfect, their emotions and vulnerabilities all shined through their performances. Highly recommend the audio!

Dante has been suspended from fencing for a year after an explosive altercation with another fencer, and in an attempt to salvage his image, he signs on to a gender-bent Robin Hood film to act and train the stunt team. Reese, meanwhile, is pushing thirty - which in Hollywood might as well be a career obituary- and she’s determined to reinvent herself. Taking on an action role, far outside her romantic-lead comfort zone, is her shot at proving she has depth, grit, and range.
Reese is Type A with a capital A, and she is not messing around. She’s committed to doing her own stunts, training hard, and giving everything to this role. Meanwhile, Dante - who has apparently been crushing on her for years if the posters on his wall mean anything - is absolutely thrilled (and maybe a little overwhelmed) to find out he’ll be working beside her.
But Reese is not here for distractions, no matter how dangerously charming Dante is with his silver rings, chipped nail polish, and brooding energy.
I loved how Dante quietly supports Reese from the beginning - helping her with stunts, calling out the director’s blatant sexism, and constantly pushing her to see her own strength. And in return, Reese sees past Dante’s reputation and recognizes the softness, loyalty, and vulnerability beneath all that practiced nonchalance.
The slow burn between them is delicious. Their chemistry crackles, but it’s the emotional balance they bring to each other that made me fall completely in love with this story. They challenge one another, champion one another, and the way they both show up for each other is genuinely beautiful.
I adored this book! The romance, the tension, the growth, the passion. Dante and Reese were electric together, and I couldn’t stop rooting for them from page one.
