I can appreciate this may have been funny in its time and place, but it's not a book that has stood the test of time. It was very easy to fall asleep to.

Upbeat satire of Soviet research institutions, filled with larger-than-life folklore characters. Alice in Wonderland, Pratchett vibes. I expect lots of the satire went over my head. Very well produced, with high quality clear and varied narration, probably one of the best I’ve experienced so far on audible. Very enjoyable!
