I really, REALLY wish someone had gone through this and corrected some of the pronunciations. Some of them, including ‘Holburn’, are inexcusable for anyone who’s even just visited London 🙄

Having listened to the 19th Century book previously and enjoying it I was thrilled to see this come up. Once again a vivid and detailed book about the city. The main characters, the trends and the fashions. All subjects are covered well. Very well read indeed. On to the 20th century now!

There were many interesting parts. Yet, for some reason I was unable to stay tuned in, my mind drifted a lot whilst listening. I think it was more because it most of it was recited in a fairly monotone.
