I found a copy of Ender's Game at my grandpa's house when I was 5 or 6, I know it was before I learned to tie my shoes, which happened at 7. I'm grateful I didn't have a family that assumed I was lying about reading - words I didn't understand, I figured out from context clues & violence? I understood violence. I'd read Amistad that same year. In any event, my love of sci-fi is decades long, is my point. And Card did it again here, he and Emily Card, putting me back in my favorite place - beginning a sci-fi adventure with a determined protagonist under the weight and expectation of the stars. I wish it was 5 or 10 times longer, honestly.
