About this listen
Stop not doing what you know you should do!
You might think laziness, lack of willpower, and/or low motivation are to blame for the fact that you aren't achieving your goals. But fascinating research in the field of psychoneuroimmunology has revealed another, far more likely possibility. One with the potential to transform your life in a dramatic way.
The typical excuses for not doing what you know you should - I'm too stressed out... I don't have the time... I don't have the energy, etc. - are, in fact, manifestations of a complex, interconnected web of psychological, chemical, and neurological factors.
When activated, these factors can effectively paralyze you - making it virtually impossible for you to take the actions needed to create change in your life.
In other words, even if you're highly motivated...if you've got these internal circumstances operating, you aren't going to be able to do it.
But while the biochemistry may be complex, the solutions are actually quite simple.
Dr. Nick Hall reveals these solutions - and the fascinating science behind them - in I Know What to Do, So Why Don't I Do It? You'll learn:
- An extraordinarily powerful stress-fighting tool that very few people take advantage of.
- An easy way to instantly regain control and stay focused in an emotional emergency.
- Six things to do when you think you've taken on more than you can accomplish in the time you have.
- The mistake almost everyone makes when they organize their to-do list.
- A simple exercise that can instantly tell you which side of your brain is dominant at any given time.
- The first-thing-in-the-morning action that will literally reset your internal clock and have a profoundly positive impact on your energy level for the rest of the day (and it is SO easy to do!).

Some useful tidbits, but certainly doesn't justify the title it has.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but that was due to the title and book blurb.
Disappointing

Also the preaching and patronising tone seems not a good fit for the material. The know it all tone doesn't really seem to fit with the content to me, especially given that the content isn't exactly groundbreaking. Also, not sure when this was recorded but the masculine / feminine stuff sounds like ancient history and seriously over - simplified.
Nothing new

Please do not be put off by the occasional music, the audiobook is absolutely worth listening to, he gives you many helpful exercises, real life examples that help you to understand why it is worth doing what he is saying and why maybe you have not succeeded with your goals in the past. He also gave alot of scientific evidence which he makes so easy to understand but so relevant to us everyday.. And what I love he does not bash you and make you feel ashamed or guilty, or put you in a place where you feel I SHOULD BE DOING X Y Z. This guy did exercises in the audiobook in a way that was so fun and funny that it really made you think and realise so much.
If you have gone through loads of self help, motivational, get it done, stop procrastinating, self discipline, you can do it type books by well known authors and did not find it help you. PLEASE GIVE THIS ONE A GO, I know what it is like to be so stuck and beat on myself and ask what is wrong with me, I know what it is like to spend thousands of hours on the internet and be up all hours searching for what I hope will be THE CURE and help me, to just be disappointed again and again and my bank account drained as well as my FAITH AND HOPE . I truly believe this will set you on the right road for happiness and success. THE 2ND HALF OF THE BOOK IS PARTICULARLY BRILLIANT AND THE ACCOMPANYING PDF WORKBOOK SO HELPFUL, I ALSO ORDERED TO PRINTED VERSION OF THE BOOK. I truly hope if you are stuck and feel you on your last legs, this helps you as it has helped me and so many others. This beats so many of the new books that have come out in the last years. My best wishes and truly hope this helps you.
FINALLY THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED

Would you consider the audio edition of I Know What to Do, So Why Don't I Do It? to be better than the print version?
Didn't read print versionWhat was one of the most memorable moments of I Know What to Do, So Why Don't I Do It??
These are stupid questions. What about Nick Hall’s performance did you like?
I like his humour. No waffle.Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No.Any additional comments?
I almost didn't buy this because of the reviews. The book was not what I thought so I can see why those reviews may have been left. The title makes it sound like it will offer solutions to procrastination and depression. It should have been called 'A scientific look at productivity and effectiveness'. The content is very interesting and is relevant to anyone who is not as productive as they want to be but it requires taking the knowledge given and applying it. It is not a quick fix but then, quick fixes don't work. For people who really want to take a long term view and actually cure themselves rather than just another 6 month cure, I think this has important information.Interesting but not what I thought it was.
