Campground manager Kate returns in this supernatural, campy, funny horror tale filled with mysterious monsters and spine-chilling encounters – perfect for fans of Grady Hendrix, Welcome to Night Vale and You're Not Supposed to Die Tonight.

Every year, Goat Valley Campground manager Kate sends out a pamphlet titled ‘How to Survive Your Camping Experience’. It contains a list of rules to help campers have an enjoyable experience and hopefully survive any encounters with the campground’s other… inhabitants.

But this year it will take more than a list of rules to keep everyone safe. Monsters that were previously lying dormant are starting to stir, and they’re waking up hungry. Among them is the Lady in Chains, a creature feared by both human and inhuman things alike.

Her reappearance creates an upheaval in the balance of power in the campground by renewing an old grudge with the harvesters, who are willing to sacrifice anyone they get their hands on in order to gain an advantage.

With the harvesters on the prowl, the Lady in Chains hunting her down and a sinister spider infestation to deal with, it looks like Kate is going to have her hands full keeping her campers alive, and she’ll need all the allies she can get.

Even if those allies aren’t actually… human.

Based on the popular r/NoSleep Reddit stories, How to Survive Camping is an unputdownable horror series that will terrify you and make you laugh in equal measure.

Critic reviews

‘Chilling, brilliant, and a perfect escalation of the premise. Not for the arachnophobia. Seriously. I mean it. Everyone else should read it, though. Family ties, burdens, and betrayals, all wrapped up in a clever cobweb of elegant writing and beautiful pacing’ (SEANAN MCGUIRE)

I read this book immediately when it released cause by happenstance I stumbled upon the first one 2 days before the release day for this. It was honestly a Really fun listen! I love all the folklore and inhuman creatures.

But this is absolutely the Worst book for an arachnophobe such as myself, I am going to paranoid for Days, I Really should have heeded the warnings about how many spiders were gonna be in this!

Still, it is a really fun read, even in spite of all the spiders. I've preordered the next book in the series and eagerly await its arrival.

(I would die for Sorrha btw, I Adore her and her spider repelling ways, her and the Old Sheriff are the Best! If I was Kate in That moment, I would have proposed honestly)

Arachnophobes be wary
