Wow, this was exactly what I needed. I didn’t even realize how much my daily stress was bleeding into how I spoke to the people I love until I started listening. Every relationship has 2 people in it and it is not always the other persons "fault" regardless of how much we want to believe that. This book helps you take responsibility for how you react to others in your life and recognize when your own behaviors are escalating things. Things such as breathing can help reset your body when you are angry and reduce hostility. Placing yourself in the other persons shoes to build empathy and understand where the other person is coming from. There are always 2 sides to every relationship and you don't really know what is going on in another's life.

There are a lot of good things to practice in this book that will help you with all your relationships in your life, including your work relationships. Now if only I could get all my co-workers and family to listen to this book.
