Originally published in the "As Fate Would Have It" Anthology, this Greek retelling of Apollo and Hyacinthus explores the delicate balance between love and sacrifice.
Apollo, The God of the Sun, had never known love. After living a millennium, he has only known lust. That is, until a dare with his comrade and friend, Zephyrus, leads him to meet the courageous and handsome Prince of Sparta. Hyacinthus is captivated by the immortal's beauty and sincerity, even after he discovers the god's secret.
As their passion ignites, so does Zephyrus's jealousy and the consequences lead to tragedy a tragic end. Or does it? Apollo will do anything to be reunited with his lost love, even if that means making a deal with the Lord of the Underworld. However, as the pair are reunited in different lifetimes, the truth about their past slowly starts to unravel.
As Hyacinthus's memories gradually begin to return, the lovers must decide whether their love is worth the doomed cycle they are trapped in. As Apollo defies the orders of the people of Olympus, the two lovers must face an old foe, but can their story be rewritten?

Apollo and Hyacinthus were meant to be — but Zephyrus had other plans 😤❗
Apollo, the god of the sun, has lived for an eternity, using mortals to sate his desires without ever truly feeling anything. His companion Zephyrus has always lurked in his shadow, quietly envying his effortless charm and almost unfair powers of seduction. And then, over a dare, they both lay eyes on Hyacinthus — the prince of Sparta, a man who is quite literally kindness personified 🥺. Pure, warm, and completely unprepared for the chaos about to enter his life.
What starts as a game slowly becomes something neither Apollo nor Hyacinthus can deny. And yes — as their deep love unfolds, it gets hot 🔥😏. But just as everything feels right, Zephyrus can't bear to watch. What follows is a desperate, jealous attempt to tear apart something beautiful — and T.J. does not hold back.
T.J. takes you on an absolute rollercoaster through lifetimes, mythology, passion, and heartbreak 🌿💙. The writing is stunning, and the world pulls you in completely. My only complaint? The open ending 😭🥺. T.J., if you're reading this — please, please write a bonus chapter. I am not ready to say goodbye to these two beautiful hunks, and I don't think I ever will be ☀️🩷.
And a special mention to the narrator Isaac Epinal 🎙️ — his narration was absolutely captivating, bringing every single character to life in a way that made each one instantly recognisable. A perfect match for this story 💙✨
