Summary

Tempest

He’s rude, mean, and looks at me like he hates me. And I’ve only just stepped into his house. Spending a year of travelling through impoverished places, trying to help people, should make handling Sargent Wolf - yes, that’s his name - a piece of cake.

But even Maddox can’t deny that his father is an absolute douche. I’m only here for six months, maximum, before I get my arse back on the road.

I’ll just have to stay out of his way and never suggest that he let me draw him naked. No matter how badly I want to.

Sargent

If I’d known Maddox’s little pest was female, I’d never have agreed to let her stay. The last woman to sleep in my house was my ex-wife.

I can’t live with a woman again and deal with them spreading their things everywhere. Not to mention their scent, tampons, clothes, makeup, and weird reading material. She has to leave, even if it’s me who makes her. Though not at the expense of my son’s respect and love for me.

I can suffer her presence for a few months. I’ve dealt with worse. I just wish she’d wear a goddamn bra once in a while under her little white vests. I’m a tits man, and hers are completely off limits.

I loved this storyline. Great characters that I would love more from. Good strong storyline with lots of action. Great narration from both Keira and Logan.

While I liked the storyline and the potential of where it could have gone, there was a lot of the story that contradicted itself, and the ending was a bit anticlimactic. The "taboo" nature of the story drew me in to begin with, and there was a lot going on that didn't really have a place in the story it felt like extra fluff. The narration by Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister was very well done, and I believe carried the story through the parts that I would have quit the book had I been reading and not listening.

I felt the narrator did a great job with what storyline she had. I wasn't a fan of his excuse of 'i had to do it'. I normally like taboo subjects but felt this missed the mark slightly. Verbally abusive and lack or remorse. The writing style was fine i felt the plot has holes and needs more work on.

His Father was an interesting age gap romance between Tempest and Sargent. There was danger and suspense mixed with steamy sex and several twists and turns. Sargent wasn't overly likable so I think Tempest would have been better off with Maddox who was her best friend and Sargent's son but then it would have been a totally different story. Keira Stevens and Logan McAllister both did a great job bringing this story to life.

Narration Logan McAllister: 5 ★
Narration Keira Stevens: 4 ★
Story: 2.5 ★
Execution: 4 ★

It started good, had potential. I love a taboo story, but this one took a turn at the end that made my head spin. Different from all other books I've listened lately, this one has a good execution, the pace was fine, the writing too, it wans't boring or anything. But he story... It look like two different books, and I can't say I like neither. In the first part, Sargent was an arse to Pest and Pest was a doormat. He says some nasty things about her to her face, treats like a commodity on more than one occasion. And every time she was assaulted (or nearly), the issue was resolved with s*x. It rub me the wrong way.

I didn't care when the story take a turn to MC and Russian mobsters (the second part), it was unnecessary and only portrait Pest as a damsel in distress even more. And Sargent was again very bad to her, specially with some poorly decision making.

Why my rating is no lower? Because the book was well written, the story was solid. It was just not my taste, I didn't enjoyed that much because H was too much of a jerk alpha male and h could be easily replace for a doormat.

The narration of Logan McAllister was great, his voice is deep and nice, the pace is good, he does all the right pauses and the male and females voices were different from one another. Keira Stevens was good too, but the audio quality wasn't so good.
