The first books in this series were read by the worse narrator I’ve ever heard; strangulated vowels and bizarre pronunciation abounded. Then, the next few had a good reader who made a decent job of the accents. Now we have another horror. Cawfee, awffice for coffee and office, for example. Stresses on the wrong parts of words and total mangling of British English across the classes. At times she veered from American/Canadian to Australian. Not quite as dire as the first narrator, but very poor. It’s a shame, as I really like the stories. I listen despite the awful accents.

Reading was excellent So much so was it that I didn't even notice felt I was reading it. Fell asleep while book still talking and happily dreamt rest of story

I don't know why so many people are bashing this narrator, she did the first 3 books in this series, yes some of the pronunciation is off but I have certainly heard worse, I am English and don't see that many issues with the way she reads it. I do admire the many different voices Lucy Rayner does with the other books but her female voices are so shrill and jarring that they aren't great when you are trying to listen to fall asleep, so I actually prefer this narrator.
on to the story, this is one of the better daisy dalrymple mysteries in my opinion
