Summary

USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Meagan Brandy delivers a new stand-alone fake-relationship romance about finding light when your world is dark and fighting for love when all seems lost.

Fake. That's what we are. That's what we agreed to be. So why does it feel so real?

I thought it would have been harder, convincing everyone our school's star receiver was mine and mine alone, but I was wrong. We played our parts so well that the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely.

The thing about pretending, though, is that someone's always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back.

I fell for our lie. And then everything fell apart.

It turned out he and I were never playing the same game. He didn't have to break me to win. But he did it anyway.

This is a 98,000-word enemies-to-lovers complete stand-alone romance!

I enjoyed this book. I am definitely not the intended demographic (far too old) but it was so well written I didn’t feel like I was listening to a story about high schoolers tbh. I loved both main characters and their story kept me listening. There was just enough misdirection and angst to keep it moving and interesting. I guessed all the twists so imho it could have done with a bit more intrigue around those twists, and also a bit more about Nico’s dad and what he was trying to do with his mum re the house and money etc. that all ended a bit too quickly for me. But other than that a good story.

The narrators were both fabulous. Christian Fox particularly, as one of my favourites, was outstanding. Every book should he narrated by him imho!

This was a really good listen

Enjoyed every moment ,only thing I’d say I’d like to know more about the life in collage

Seriously love this book. Have read and listened to the brilliant audio performance Sooo many times. In my opinion, its Meagan Brandy's best. From the fun they had to the hurt they felt, every emotion was felt completely, when reading this book.
Nothing predictable in the story either, some unusual twists, and Seriously Sexy!
This has to be my very favourite book and I've read hundreds in the past year.
Thank you Meagan, Christian and Jennifer!

Wow! - my favourite book and audio performance

Loved this book, yes there were bits that seemed a little improbably (like Nico not knowing about Demi’s toxic relationship with her mum, despite living next door to her forever - he finds out because he overhears an argument in the garden, you’d assume that there would have been plenty of these over the years). However, I would listen to this book over and over, just for the way Christian Fox brings Nico’s internal ramblings to life, so funny!

1st Meagan Brandy book, but not the last...

Overall it was a fine history. At some point a lot happened that is unrealistic. The story could have been a bit shorter. Loved not narrators.
