* 2022's most original and darkly funny murder mystery from award-winning comedian Benjamin Stevenson *

I was dreading the Cunningham family reunion even before the first murder. Before the storm stranded us at the mountain resort.

The thing is, us Cunninghams don't really get along.

We've only got one thing in common: we've all killed someone.

My brother, my step-sister, my wife, my father, my mother, my sister-in-law, my uncle, my step-father, my aunt. Even me.

When they find the first body in the snow, it's clear that only a Cunningham could have committed the crime - and it's up to me to prove it.

There are plenty of killers in my family. But only one murderer . . .

'Clever, unexpected, and not to be missed' KARIN SLAUGHTER

I absolutely loved it. Utterly original, hugely entertaining, and a must-read for every fan of the mystery genre. What an exceptionally fresh, smart, funny book - I've never read anything like this before. (Jane Harper)
An ingenious and hilarious meta-murder mystery . . . strangely moving
As fresh and zingy as a salted lime. It's Knives Out meets Richard Osman. Or Dexter by way of Agatha Christie. Or Schitt's Creek with a body count. It's also the most luxuriantly enjoyable novel I've read in years. And years. I began toting my copy around town so that strangers would ask me about it - who could resist that title? I only wish there were more members of the Cunningham clan, so that this raucous, matchlessly entertaining mystery could go on longer. Benjamin Stevenson, I've got a lot to learn from you (A.J. Finn)
The best thing I've read in ages. I absolutely loved it. Whip-smart, twisted, funny, and constructed with the pinpoint precision of a bloodthirsty watchmaker. (Stuart MacBride)
This book had me hooked from the first chapter. Deliciously funny, dark and intriguing (Alex Pavesi)
I absolutely loved it. It's so engaging, entertaining and charming. I don't think I've ever read anything like it, and it's such a fun read (Marian Keyes)
Clever, unexpected, and not to be missed (Karin Slaughter)
An exceptionally clever and amusing mystery. Stevenson carries off this tour de force with all the aplomb of a master magician who conducts his tricks in plain view
This was such a clever, compelling read. It's a must for anyone who loves the rules of crime fiction, but it still packs plenty of twists. It had me laughing and turning the pages in equal measure. Bravo Mr Stevenson! (S.J. Bennett)
An engrossing whodunnit, with an ingenious twist on the classic crime genre. The type of book you finish and want to immediately read again (Kyle Perry)

I often find a narrator makes or breaks a book and I was disappointed when I started listening, at how fast the narrator reads. I thought it'll never sink in at this pace.! So, I slowed it down to 95% - perfect, and I soon settled into Barton Welch's lilt.

I wish I had been able to listen to this book in gloriously large chunks, instead of half an hour here and twenty minutes there, based on walking to work, car journeys, grocery shopping, cooking the dinner etc., but I managed to get through it, and a lot of early bedtimes meant big chunks every evening!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book; the characters were great, the chapters well laid out and the story moved on nicely without getting boring or stuck.

I didn't work any of it out despite the clues which are apparently there!

The premise of the book was original and just brilliant. It made listening so enjoyable. I loved the way the author added comments throughout to clarify and highlight things in past chapters.

I'd listen to another book in this style in a heartbeat and I am definitely going to look up other books by Benjamin Stevenson. He references Aussie fiction at the end, and I hope he's right, so I'm going to look up some more of that too!

This book is definitely not a waste of a credit. You'll love it - and I really hope you do !

What a refreshing & brilliant way to write a book!

This book was a suggestion from a family friend that is known to have consumed a number of horror/murder mysteries. So imagine my delightful surprise when I realised that this book was a morder day light hearted murder mystery. I liked the refreshing factor that our protagonist(s) were not detectives, investigators etc and were some normal people that stumbled upon a mystery. I appreciated a lot the addition of the 10 rules of murder mystery that he set himself to follow. It gave the opportunity for us listening/reading to solve the mystery and arrive at the correct solution even before the narrator/protagonist, without the fear that some random plot twist or plain coincidence was the answer.

The narrator also gives the right tone/pitch/emphasis when acting the dialogues. Which is something that I am thankful of since it helped me pick up on some theories that I wouldn't have if I was reading it. So prompts to him for that.

All in all, a very enjoyable read/listen and if you have a spare credit or some extra pounds in your bank out, i would highly recommend it. It was an enjoyable, light hearted and suspenful ride all the way through.

A fun and suspenseful ride all the way through
