Engaging and vivid story. Unfortunately let down by a background noise of chatter or echo, noticeable when listening on phone but less so if listening in car.

Better than the series. I look forward to more. The reading by Davina Porter is marvellous and the attention to detail, plotsmithing and historical, medical and botanical knowledge of Diana Gabaldon simply remarkable.

She has created a world we can live in - Claire and Gillie are not the only time travellers in this book, the reader is one also.

The only problem is I keep wanting to talk Scots while taking part in ordinary life now. I get some strange looks, especially in Poland, this ancestral land of the Bonny Prince!

a good listen and would recommend to a friend, make sure you've read or listened to book 1 first. also very accurate as these things go to the new drama released

If you watch the TV series also, listening to the book is like getting Claire’s retelling of what happened. I love the narrator and her approach. Probably wouldn’t buy other books in the series if there was a different narrator.
