Dantes had his revenge, but he wants more.

With his former crew dealt with, Dantes and Jacopo have new goals. They’ve carved out midtown as their territory, but that’s just the start. It’s a druid’s job to grow his territory, to spread, and Dantes intends to live up to his responsibilities.

Unfortunately, it won’t be as easy as just shaking down a few shops for protection money and managing some smuggling. There’s a plague spreading, the eyes of the Fingers are on him, and there may be war on the horizon.

On top of all that he has one last score to settle.

Will his ever growing powers and Jacopo’s new form be enough?

Book 3 in a progression fantasy series perfect for fans of Dishonored, The Blacktongue Thief, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and Baldur’s Gate!

About the Series: A slow-burn progression fantasy focused on an Anti-hero MC with a code rising through the criminal underworld of a city-state using newfound powers and quick wits. MC's powers will develop slowly, but he will use them in creative ways to get ahead, and in the meantime he'll do whatever it takes.

This was a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy, seeing Dantes' progression and development was truly satisfying.

Excellent

I loved the first two books, I was recommending them to everyone. I can't recommend this. It feels like they had a few storylines planed out that they still "wanted" to do but got bored and just tried to finish it all as quickly as possible. This book does tie things up but second book honestly feel like a better end to a good story.

I really enjoyed the story in the previous two books and even in this book, however I feel that the ending was very rushed and overly congested.

honestly feels like there was enough material for at least one more book to round everything up but the author decided to cram all of it into the final parts of this book.

overall I would say the ending was a 6.5/10. everything is rounded up and closed off but seemed very forced in certain parts.

For some reason I wasn't expecting a 3rd book but it does make sense with the main villain still active. Anyway the story isn't as satisfying as the revenge from book 2 but it is still a good read. Book 1 & Book 2 was definitely superior to book 3 but this book provides a proper ending to this story and even hints on continuing the story from the son's perspective. (Hopefully if they do continue, it wont turn out like "The house witch" which was such a good book but the one of their child did not go well.)

A Decent Ending
