About this listen

The world is dead, devoured by a plague of reanimated corpses. In a crumbling city, Sarah, Nathan, and a band of survivors barricade themselves inside a warehouse surrounded by a sea of shambling putrefaction. Days in seclusion blur by, and their food is nearly gone. The group is faced with two possible deaths: creeping starvation, or the undead outside the warehouse.

As Sarah stands on the edge of the warehouse roof preparing to step out into oblivion she spots a glimmer of hope. In the distance a helicopter approaches the city... but is it the salvation the survivors have been waiting for? And do they dare attempt to fight their way through the mass of infected dead to reach it?

This is a fairly enjoyable piece of undead fiction let down by a few classic mistakes.

It's hard to go into detail without giving too much away however one particular scenario is played out several times to bump up the tension. After the umpteenth time you start to think the author had run out of ideas. You'll know what I mean if you buy it.

There's also a bit of a nod to the mad scientist/unreasonable soldier tension made famous in much undead fiction and you get the distinct impression the author has developed his opinions of science/the military based on similar stories.

Enjoyable but ultimately quite irritating...

Although im a massive fan of Zombie movies,it is only in the past month i have discovered the genre in audiobook form! I started with this book,Domain of the Dead as it nodded towards the films i hold most dear! I really enjoyed every second of this book all the way to the end. A good story with solid characters....When it ended i wanted it to carry on for just another 15mins so i could find out what happens next! If you are a fan of the genre then i suggest you add this to your audio collection!

Brilliant!!

Within Domain of the Dead, Iain McKinnon delivers a highly enjoyable zombie romp. Whilst the principle behind the story does give a nod towards films like "Dawn (and Day) of the Dead”, he delivers a well constructed, claustrophobic tale, with solid characters that keeps you tense and wondering right up to the last.
If you like this genre (and I do), then it’s a great choice, but if you’re one of these strange people who don’t love the concept of an all-consuming post-apocalyptic Zombie infested earth, then let’s face it: this may not be the bedtime story for you.

A Great Post-apocalyptic Zombie Tale

Group of survivors, some military some civilian, on a small military research vessel. An arrogant but genius scientist is trying to find a vaccine. This means tough marine squads must go to the mainland and bring back infected "WD'S". Hmmm what could possibly go wrong! Outbreak on ship. The helicopter is not due back for a few hours. Cool characters must survive. There are some really cool characters like the eastern european female sniper "Angel" who is a crack shot and just pretty zombie butt kicking hard. The book is well written, er unlike this review only got a grade C at GCSE english folks sorry. There is however some good scientific knowledge used by the author to help explain the cause of the zombie infection. Tension in abundance and detailed action sequences. Enjoy this Zombie thrill ride.

Fast roller coaster zombie thrill ride!
