This is the best account of that day I have found. Excellent audiobook which holds the attention and gives a clear picture of what actually happened from all sides. In an age when history appears to be in the process of being rewritten, books like this containing first hand experiences are worth their weight in gold. So well written and very good narration.

Great stuff this, really detailed. Felt like being there (but a fair but safer), I learned a lot.

No one can doubt the amount of effort involved in obtaining the information to tell the story. However, there is so much detail it is impossible to hold all of it it your mind. Sometimes you wonder whether all of it is required. For example, one reference is to someone reading a book. Not only are we given the title of the book but also the chapter!

The attack was a surprise, many didn’t initially believe there was an attack and thought the shooting was due to military exercises and there was great confusion. Countless recollections are given, far more than needed to make the point.

I enjoyed the book up to a point but it did become a little tedious.
