Summary
Audrey, recently widowed, is not saying why she left her comfortable home in the south of England to move into an old school boarding house on the edge of a moor. Tina, a young estate agent, is concerned for Audrey’s safety as she believes the folklore about a schoolboy who never went home. Property developers, annoyed at losing a site ripe for demolition, make plans to encourage Audrey to sell. I love this novel, it gripped me from start to finish it has everything - romance, the supernatural, crime, suspense and the characters were so well described I almost felt I knew them personally
I found that you were right there with Audrey (the main character) throughout. I loved her courage and determination. The story is so well told and descriptive without going off track. I would love to go further into the plot but I feel it would give too much away so I highly recommend you immerse yourself into this wonderful story.
I love how Romona Farr writes and I can’t wait to listen to her next novel Breaking Through the Shadows which I hope will be coming to Audible soon.
