I downloaded this after enjoying the first book in the series. The second has turned out to be just as good with a good mixture of action, suspense and magic. There is a love interest but it's not overwhelming. There is also a section where Nate battles going bad, of course, he stays a hero in the end.
As previously two stories run side by side, one in the current day and one in the 19th century, the wild west. In my opinion, this device was highly effective.
The book works and I will be buying the next in the series

Good and tremendously dark, once again. Full of humour, light-heartedness and no-nonsense rhetoric in-between. Glorious!

I love Nathan Garrett. He is exciting to read. I can hardly wait to start get 3rd book in the series. I love the narrator's voice as well. I really like the use of magic and powers like good fighting evil.also fact that Nathan has lived through the time of Merlin Hades makes it more interesting.great story line.
