**Narrated by Mandy Matney** The highly anticipated inside look at the collapse of the Murdaugh dynasty by the celebrated investigative journalist and creator of the #1 hit Murdaugh Murders Podcast, Mandy Matney.

Years before the name Alex Murdaugh was splashed across every major media outlet in America, local South Carolina journalist Mandy Matney had an instinct that something wasn’t right in the Lowcountry. The powerful Murdaugh dynasty had dominated rural South Carolina for generations. No one dared to cross them.

When Mandy and her reporting partner Liz Farrell looked closer at a fatal boat crash involving the storied family’s teenage son Paul, they began to uncover a web of mysteries surrounding the deaths of the Murdaughs’ long-time housekeeper and a young man found slain years earlier on a backcountry road. Just as their investigations were unfolding, the brutal double murder of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh rocketed Alex Murdaugh onto the international stage.

From the newsroom to the courtroom, to the kitchen-table studio where Mandy recorded her #1 Murdaugh Murders Podcast, Blood on Their Hands is a propulsive true crime saga, an empathetic work of investigative journalism, and an excoriation of the “good old boy” systems that enabled a network of criminals.

This isn't about the murders. This is about a woman who saw something wrong, saw people who were hurting and not being heard, and stepped up in her role as reporter. Thank you for your honesty, diligence, and strength.

If, like me, you listened to every episode of the Murdaugh Murders Podcast and Cup Of Justice, then this book tells you all you wanted to know about Mandy's incredible journey behind the scenes. If you're new to this then it's still a great read, and if you love true crime then you really need to listen to the podcasts. Where you are in the world doesn't matter - I'm in the UK - because this is of international importance. The trial is also available to watch and it's mind blowing. There is no doubt that without Mandy and Liz, none of this would have happened. Two incredible, brave women who blew the world away.

A Brilliant Read

I found this book disappointing and slightly amateurish tbh. The title is very misleading. This is very light on the Murdaugh Murders /Dynasty and very heavy on Mandy Matneys rise to 'fame'. It's more of a 'how I got to where I am now' than anything to do with the 'fall of the Murdaugh Dynasty' I followed her podcast from the start and still follow True Sunlight/Cup of Justice and find the reporting in those together with co-hosts Liz Farrell and Eric Bland tight, compelling and informative. Although it appears to be turning into a pay wall so …..
In the book she does seem to play the victim which does not sit well with me. It’s not always because you’re young or female sometimes it’s because you’re not very good at your job.
Maybe if Mandy had been a little more honest with the book title and content, I would not have been disappointed and would have seen it for what it is. If you want the background on Mandy Matney rather than Alex Murdaugh etc this is the book for you. If you want an insight into the corruption and murders in the Low Country with the Murdaughs etc follow the podcast or buy a different book.
I am returning it.
