Blackmailed by the Jerk is the first book I've read by Isla Chiu. It was shorter than I thought it would be but also quite fun. The push and pull between May and Rick was done well and I was pleasantly surprised.

the only difference is that he is not a jerk, even if initially he behaves as such. obviously a rich hot guy could get any girl he wants if he is also a good loving person, but it's not clear why he gets obsessed wih this girl.. double D? meh.. not really convinced about the story, tbh. and the narrator, she was ideal for the part, but i am not really fond of narrators with foreigner accents (just a personal preference, i am not trying to discriminate anybody).

This review is written after listening to the audio version of this book.

I had never read or listened to anything by this author, but when I read the blurb for this book I thought it might be fun. It was shorter than I expected, just under an hour, but it was certainly a good introduction to this authors work. The story is about Mei a girl who cheated on her RST Scores something discovered by Rick.

Rick is rich and good looking but has somehow managed to remain a virgin, he decides the best way to perfect his sexual performance is to "practice" with Mei, only to discover that Mei too is a virgin.

He has feelings of insecurity about his self worth due to his childhood when he was a bullied nerd, a scrawny boy with bad skin and in some ways so has Mei but in her case, it was because she was too attractive. I enjoyed the back and forth between them, I like the way both characters have changes in attitude about what is going on be between them and the way Mei called him out when he behaved like a bully. It was a fun listen I loved the way their story developed.

The narration by Rae Miles was well done.
