Five friends go out. Four friends come back. One 18-year-old doesn’t. But I also tell the other side of Turkey travel: aggressive sales tactics, bargaining pressure, and how easy it is to overpay when you just want to leave. That spirals into a wider conversation about phone scrolling, social media algorithms that feed outrage, and the double standard of who gets praised for “trying” versus who gets mocked for an accent.
