With their children living and working on the Trans-Mars-Jupiter Observatory, their home seems empty. There is so much to be done around Valhalla that Denise and Robert have to jump between tasks until members of Valhalla’s Vernean Lunatics and their families begin arriving to help. While everyone else has taken over the tasks, it is suggested that the couple try to relax.

It was then when an idea came up to entertain the children by taking them to earth for a fieldtrip to what used to be Oklahoma to visit old family homesteads and the Heavener Rune Stone. The old home places were overgrown and basically nothing was left of the structures. That is when they went to the park where the rune stone was at.

While there one of the caretakers tells Robert and Denise about the original rune stone being taken and those who searched for it disappeared. Robert and Denise share this with their team which ends up with encounters with a species known as shapeshifters. Are these the creatures of old stories told throughout human history. They do present risks to those on the team once the investigation is well on its way.
