After adoption discovery, healing isn't just mental or spiritual—it's physical. Your body remembers what your mind tried to move past. The tension, the exhaustion, the anxiety that shows up without warning—it's not weakness. It's not spiritual failure. It's your body telling the truth.
In this entry, we talk about:
- Why your body reacts even when your mind understands the truth
- How survival patterns shaped your nervous system before you had words
- What God thinks about your physical responses (spoiler: He's not frustrated)
- Why unraveling isn't collapse—it's recalibration
- How to let God meet you exactly where your body is today
This one's tender, sis. Go gently.
Scripture ReferencedPsalm 34:18
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
The story of the bleeding woman (Mark 5:25-34)
Jesus didn't rush her. He stopped, saw her, and spoke peace over her body.
Where is my body holding what my mind is trying to release?
Sit quietly. Notice your breath. Notice your shoulders. Your jaw. Your chest.
Ask yourself:
- What am I bracing for right now?
- What does my body remember that I've been trying to forget?
- What would it look like to let God tend to this part of me without shame?
Write honestly. No pressure to have answers. Just presence.
Prayer for TodayFather,
Thank You for being close to the brokenhearted—not just in spirit, but in body too.
My body has been holding so much. Tension I can't name. Exhaustion I can't explain. Reactions I wish I didn't have.
Help me see that this isn't failure. Help me trust that You're not frustrated with me. Help me believe that unraveling is not collapse—it's the beginning of something truer.
Teach me how to be gentle with myself the way You are gentle with me.
I don't have to rush this. I don't have to perform healing. I just have to be honest—and let You meet me here.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Unraveling is not failure. It's recalibration.
Your body is not betraying you. It's protecting you. And God is not waiting for you to get it together—He's meeting you exactly where you are.
