Mick Munter, the adventurous "wonder from down under," steers his amphibious RV, the Muskrat, into the deep woods of Olympic National Park to track the legendary Bigfoot. After consulting a skeptical scientist, Mick discovers a pair of ruthless poachers have trapped the massive creature in a net. Driven by a mission to observe rather than harm, Mick frees the injured Sasquatch using his multi-tool. To sneak his giant friend past the poachers, Mick devises a brilliant disguise: he shaves the creature's thick fur so he resembles a very tall man wearing furry "pants". The ruse succeeds, leaving the poachers baffled while Mick and his new companion escape. Grateful for the rescue, Bigfoot decides to leave his solitary life behind and join Mick on the Muskrat as a permanent partner in monster-hunting adventures.
