Bertie Wooster has been overdoing metropolitan life a bit, and the doctor orders fresh air in the depths of the country. But after moving with Jeeves to his cottage at Maiden Eggesford, Bertie soon finds himself surrounded by aunts - not only his redoubtable Aunt Dahlia but an aunt of Jeeves's too.

Add a hyper-sensitive racehorse, a very important cat and a decidedly bossy fiancée - and all the ingredients are present for a plot in which aunts can exert their terrible authority. But Jeeves, of course, can cope with everything - even aunts, and even the country. The final Jeeves and Wooster novel shows P.G. Wodehouse still able to delight, well into his nineties.

I am a great fan of PG Wwoodhouse, but prefer his Blanding's Castle series. However, this one of Jeeves & Wooster is one of my favourite.
The narrator did a brilliant job.

Just what you would expect.

And so, this is the last completed novel by P G Wodehouse and so Bertie Wooster and Jeeves. The novel starts well and generates expectations of an ending with a splash. Bertie follows doctor's order and tries to rest before his Aunt Dahlia assigns him to do her bidding and formidable males create difficulties for him. Though he cowers he is not an outright coward. Major Plank reappears from a previous novel and provides fast speaking right-wing and colonial sentiments egging on others. Despite this it is all wreathed in fun. Jeeves is more present than not which is a joy. A horse race at the center of intrigues is where you expect the novel to burst into riot. Sadly this does not happen and we are served up with reported events. Wodehouse really finishes his major efforts with reconciled lovers and Bertie preserved. For this lack of a riotous ending, I have only given four stars. That said I enjoyed this novel and the supremely well performed audio-book. Listeners who reach this novel in the series will be well pleased. Starters might best start at the series' beginning.

Excellent performance gave life to the words! The story is full of humour - especially on anything cat related - most enjoyable.

delightful

Loved the reader and book and so very enjoyable listening. There were a couple of audio errors, which should have been easy to edit during production, but otherwise 5 stars.
