Summary
Alice has always felt there was something she didn’t understand about her father—about the years he spent in the Middle East, and the silences he carried home. Those silences linger in her life, shaping her sense of distance from the world around her.
After an accident, Alice wakes in a place called Mullah Land.
It is a lush, unsettling world governed by sacred rules and quiet terror. Clerics preside. Citizens comply. Language bends meaning. Fear passes for virtue, and obedience is mistaken for faith.
As Alice moves through this strange theocracy, she begins to sense the contradictions beneath its rituals—and the cost of seeing too clearly. Power wears many faces here, and survival often demands silence.
But once clarity begins, it cannot be undone.
A surreal political fable about authority and belief, identity and inheritance, and the dangerous act of awakening.
