The thought-provoking new novel from the international bestselling author whose words change lives.

Linda knows she's lucky.

Yet every morning when she opens her eyes to a so-called new day, she feels like closing them again.

Her friends recommend medication.

But Linda wants to feel more, not less.

And so she embarks on an adventure as unexpected as it is daring, and which reawakens a side of her that she - respectable wife, loving mother, ambitious journalist - thought had disappeared.

Even she can't predict what will happen next...

Critic reviews

Adultery perfectly illustrates the faint line between madness and insanity, happiness and unhappiness as well as the eternal search for our own “personal legend”

Love it. Fears and love well explained. Feeling alike to the main person in the story. Similar thoughts. Good answers to difficult questions too.

Helped a lot. You see things more clearer now.

Absolutely loved the detail and passion of the story. Would definitely recommend. Capture my interest from the very first chapter. Yes indeed, very good.

Delightful.

she makes the woman feel like an old lady, and somehow it did make me question her age all the time. as the story is from the persons perspective, I enjoy it when the narrator really plays with the voice and adjusts it for the story.

The story itself is ok, but... ended too well, in my opinion. not enough actual drama for me.

I haven't enjoyed the narrator

This story was boring and not in touch with the real world. Dissapointing as some other Coelho's latest works. The narrator's voice sounded much too old and I had to keep reminding myself that the main character is only in her thirties.

Boring

This book tries to tell the tale of a woman in some version of a midlife crisis. Turns out she needed to have sex with some guys and then it was over. That is the story. Oh, the husband forgave her.

Poor story about a woman written by a man
