"Here is Edward Bear, coming down the stairs now, bump, bump, bump on the back of his head, behind Christopher Robin."

Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, and all their friends have been delighting children, and grown-up children, for a long, long time, since about last Friday! He may be a Bear of Very Little Brain, but he certainly has A Lot of Pluck and a Big Heart.

In this new audio production of A. A. Milne's original classic, Pooh Bear encounters some Suspicious Bees, hunts down Woozles (or, as it might be, Wizzles), goes on Expotitions and Much More.

Performed by Callum Hale (FOB - Friend of Bear). Complete with sound effects and original music by Dylan Allcock (PPE- Piano Player Extraordinaire), this production truly welcomes you into the Hundred Acre Wood.

I love Winnie the Pooh and I usually avoid recordings because they so often disappoint. I only listened to this because I was aware of Callum Hale's other audiobook recordings and wondered what he would do with it. He reads with understanding, an active inner child and extraordinary charm. I am of the generation that grew up with Jackanory on the BBC and the joy of the greats: Willie Rushton, Bernard Cribbins, Kenneth Williams et al. Callum Hale would not have been out of place amongst them. It is a joy.

Beautifully told.
