*Spoilt alert* Beautiful story with twists I didn't expect. Ends beautifully! Finally a story where a female heroine chooses the wise, virtuous, 'average Joe' over the guy who's got money, looks and wealth! Refreshing!

I was disappointed I didn’t gel with the first of this series of 2… but this had me reading as eagerly as the teenager who first encountered this author’s Little Women.

If you’re slogging through The Eight Cousins this sequel felt less fractured and more coherent than the first.
