Would you listen to A Hero of France again? Why?

I have - and probably shall again.Very good story - great narrator

What did you like best about this story?

The fact it all flowed effortlessly. While the characters were heroic, there was no grandstanding, and we were spared the usual Gestapo horror stories - by now we can all imagine what they were like.

What does Daniel Gerroll bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A very pleasant voice and excellent acting abilities - really brings the characters alive and helps you see how different they all are.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not particularly - enjoying it too much

What I'd describe as an understated thriller - typical of Alan Furst. It gives you a real insight into life in occupied France.
