I enjoyed the story, very clever and different but there were not enough pauses in the correct places. Not sure if it was narrator or editor who messed it up. Flicking backwards and forwards in time needs a breath in between at very least.

Great story fantastically written & read. Horrible people being horrible.

Editing is unfortunate. Not even the slightest pause when jumping between timelines. If you're confused, rewind and get your bearings again!

With a really satisfying twist at the end. It’s a very dark story with no sympathetic characters but if you are in the right frame of mind for that I can highly recommend this audiobook.

Great tale, evoking the long hot summer of 1976 and the vibe of indolent young people living together in an idyllic Suffolk country house. The unravelling of the mystery in the pets’ cemetery was well done but the switching of timelines rather confusing - poorly handled by the narrator.
Surprise ending that was quite satisfying.

A disparate group of young young people come to live in a mansion inherited by Dave. The languid, sultry atmosphere of their aimless life funded by selling off objects left in the house is enhanced by occurring during the very hot summer of 1976. Things begin to implode when a disturbed, runaway teenager, Zosie, is given a lift and taken back to the join the group. The story is told from the perspective of different characters and flits back and forth from 1976 to 10 years later. The consequences of buried skeletons being unearthed in the grounds of the mansion in the 1980s disrupts of the lives of the original group, now in more conventional careers. The novel keeps the reader uncertain as to what really happened and this adds to the tension.

An engrossing story of human folly with dire consequences.

The narrator is excellent.
