When Nicole Rayburn adds a historic bookshop to her list of promotional venues, she meets the owner, Deborah Dolan, who’s desperate to discover what happened to her Victorian ancestor. Loved the story and the way it was told, the voices were good and the storyline was very interesting

Irina Shapiro has the most wonderful imagination. I have absolutely loved all her books they leave you excited to read the next one. I really love the fact that they are positive and uplifting in style and I really loved the re-introduction of Jason Redmond in the previous title, The guilded Lily.
The author though engaging has a distinctly odd way of pronouncing certain words, her accent is Received Pronunciation but she adds many Americanisms which I find really irritating but she does narrate extremely well giving each character a distinct voice.
Overall, superb and well worth a listen.

Even bad can be like ! You know that you are gifted, So i’ll just say thank you. Really really loved the Lovers, and that particular series of books. What’s is it about doom that’s so soothing? ( Someone else’s doom,?when it can be blamed on history.) challenges just change, it’s life. Believe me it’s always humiliating at the bottom,not necessarily warm, or Keep writing , please .( less gloom! )

I haven’t finished listening yet, but I’m finding this novel really gripping. I’ve enjoyed all Irina Shapiro’s books but this is definitely the best yet for me. Once again though, hearing the narrator crucifying the English accent has really spoiled my enjoyment of this book. I’m suffering through it just because the story is good.
