After years of conscripted service to a corrupt king, Evelyn Rosewood seizes a chance to earn her freedom. With little more than an enchanted satchel and her feathered familiar, she sets out on a quest to dispel a mysterious blight that has shrouded a once-thriving harborside town in despair.

However, upon her arrival in the bustling port city, rumors of a dark curse mingle with the salty breeze, and the town’s initial warmth gives way to suspicion.

Aided by a handsome, albeit grumpy, herb merchant, Evelyn aims to heal more than just the vast farmlands. But with time, it appears she is not the only one keeping secrets. Can her magic mend the town’s fractured past and open guarded hearts, including her own?

A Drop of Fortune is the first novel in a series of standalone cozy fantasy romances. Perfect for fans of Legends & Lattes, Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries, and The Spellshop.

A perfect cosy magic book to start this new series. Not too much world building but just enough to understand the variety of magic and fantasy characters. Found family, a love story and of course righting a wrong. Perfect

Dislike: I am disappointed to learn that political correctness other words “every book, movie, political debate” must include gays and lesbians.
So far every book I listened from Danielle G. was tasteful, funny, witty, true love story and a hint of crime.

The story line was great in this one too. And all of the above, but I am disappointed that She felt the need to put in gays and lesbians.
As much as I love her books, will I listen to the next book of this series? May be not. But I am sure loosing 1 listener is nothing.
