The stand-alone sequel to the award-winning The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet

Lovelace was once merely a ship's artificial intelligence. When she wakes up in an new body, following a total system shut-down and reboot, she has to start over in a synthetic body, in a world where her kind are illegal. She's never felt so alone.

But she's not alone, not really. Pepper, one of the engineers who risked life and limb to reinstall Lovelace, is determined to help her adjust to her new world. Because Pepper knows a thing or two about starting over.

Together, Pepper and Lovey will discover that, huge as the galaxy may be, it's anything but empty.

PRAISE FOR THE WAYFARERS
Never less than deeply involving
Chambers is simply an exceptional talent
So much fun to read
Joyously written and a joy to read.
The most fun that I've had with a novel in a long, long time
Explores the quieter side of sci-fi while still wowing us with daring leaps of imagination
Exceptional... Chambers is a true talent and writer to watch
Warm, engaging, properly science-fictional, A Closed and Common Orbit is a very likable novel indeed
Becky Chambers writes aliens like no one else ... the only flaw in this series is you'll wish you could spend more time with all of them
One of the most enjoyable, brilliantly realised spacey SF novels I've read in ages.

Beautiful story with really loveable characters.
was worried it would not live up to 'A Long Way To A Small Angry Planet' but it was as good if not better. Not a huge story line but builds a lovely connection to the characters lives and struggles along the way. Excellent Book, Definitely Recommend!! :D

lovely story, excellent sequel to a great book.

As with the first edition of this series, this book is so easy to fall in love with. You become so attached with the characters and their stories. I highly recommend this audio book too as the narrator has a pleasant voice and is a good performer.

Just like the first book in the series, a story that starts off as a lighthearted and funny space romp manages to holds up a mirror to current culture and ethics in a way that only the best SciFi and fantasy can.
Sure the science could be tighter and the characters don't quite ring true with their back stories.
But in amongst the cussing and the grease are some well made observations about sentience and finding purpose.
Can't wait for the next one!

Oh I love it!

Both the universe and the story are undoubtedly result of a briliant mind. Oh and the narration.. I couldn't imagine a better one.
I finished this book sitting on a train and trying to get some rest. I can't honestly remember the last time I cried but the ending of this book actually made me take my glasses off and wipe the tears from my eyes. I would never imagine getting this emotional over a story involving an AI. So thank you to both Becky and Patricia for this amazing experience.

Great Book.
