some elements were really cute but others were a bit drawn out and kind of irrelevant, like the girls especially, so many side characters that weren't interesting. the narrator for Jake was superb as always! we find out not much about Jake overall, he seemed interesting though! that bracelet was a cute plot point, loved that for him

This book was perfect! Couldn't stop listening to it and finished it in 1 day. Their chemistry is incredible and I love Brenna and Jake 🫶🏼 Had a hard time with the first book in the briar U serie because it was slow but this was 10/10! Amazing

This was hands down my FAVOURITE Elle Kennedy book. The characters, the slow burn, the side stories. The F**KING NARRATORS performance oh my god. Everything was chef's kiss. Definitely worth listening to if you like hockey romance.

A couple of things in The Risk kinda bothered me. Hazel for one thing. Like...did she apologise for her behaviour no. Was it forgotten about, mostly yeah. Also Jake definitely didn't grovel enough or see that Hazel played him like a PS2. That being said, I kinda love Brenna and I was invested in the banter and the rivals to lovers situation between Jake and Brenna. The chemistry both in and out of bed was pretty solid but the side characters didn't hit for me.
