I love Jeff Hayes anyway, so this was an easy listen. I loved the alternative pov and very dark humour, which perhaps isn't everyones taste. But if you like DCC I'm sure you enjoy this too. Recommended.

I bought this on a whim and have ended up really enjoying it . it is quite silly.

My curiosity was peaked with the tongue in cheek title and cover art. I needed to know if this was just some unashamedly RPG porn book.

Thankfully for the most part it isn't, but when it odes step a toe in that water, let's just say it's clumsy, awkward and felt wholly unnecessary. As if it was only added to somewhat satisfy the people that bought the book for that one reason.

It has a novel concept and was fun at times, but the story dragged in places and felt aimless (granted that is partially the point).
There was nothing that truly had me invested or wanting to keep going other than my own compulsion to finish the story seeing as though I started it.

It is one of the funniest fantasy novels I've heard in a long time. If you ever played any kind of fantasy role play, this is a must read.

Great book, I didn't expect the story to develop like it but but I enjoyed it all the same.
This book isn't for the squeamish as there is plenty of unpleasant gore but it's done in a way that isn't gross or sadistic but funny and clingy.
Tge main character has a very easy to follow mind set and is fun to listen to and you constantly want him to win and progress.
